Good morning all,
I think one of the strengths of our family is the ability to help each other. I love seeing the energy you guys have and the "pirate mentality - to seek and find" that allows each of us to be successful. Keep digging and sharing. We ALL THANK YOU!
Jackie sent this link last week in response to my article about calories in those yummy drinks we grab. Please read CAREFULLY the grams of sugar even in the lite ones. YIKES! From Jackie: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/08/01/healthy-starbucks-frappuccinos/
Cheryl sent a link yesterday detailing the benefits of coconut oil to our bodies. I haven't done any research on this, but the main article certainly sparked my interest! And, I am always in search of items that taste good and bring LIFE to our bodies. Thanks, Cheryl. You're doing great. 100 pounds here we come. From Cheryl: http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/
Our sweet Jennie, who recently moved to Texas, has started sending us some beautiful new tools to explore. I don't know if we can find these in our area, but I certainly bet we can find them on line. Yes, indeed. I am always looking for something yummy to add to my cooking tools. I do make my own ketchup (sugar free) but if this is good..........well, why re-invent the wheel? Jennie, we miss you! But keep those ideas coming. :)
From Jennie:
Oh my goodness, have I found some amazing yet healthy little snacks and condiments! I've been going to a new, healthy grocery store like every other day! They truly have some amazing ones out here. I thought it was time to share with you some of my finds.
First, found a completely unsweetened ketchup and it taste amazing! It's by Westbrae Naturals, love it!!
Next I found some crazy great dressings for phase 3 and beyonders that has no sugar and are extremely low in cals. Made by Braggs, the company that makes the liquid Aminos. They have some really awesome flavors and they also make great marinades according to the health food lady.
Then I found some crown jewels, the sweets!!! I found these cookies that are starch free, carb free, sugar free, and gluten free but not flavor free. Ringing in at a low 60 calories per huge cookie they are a sweets lovers must haves. They are also low in fat!
Lastly I found some chocolate Bon bons that were sweetened with fruit.
Isn't this cool - better than hunting alone - hunting together. "We are fam-i-leee.......I got all my "sistas" with me......." Sorry men, you're with us too.
Choose life this day and eat to live! PK
